The Lament of Merchants in Business Center

Padang (8/29) – Business Center (BC) is a place which is provided by Andalas University party for merchant to sell their merchandise. The most of their sell are food and drink with many variation like fried rice, noodle, meatball, Padang rice, and many more. There are so many students which come here to spend their time after tired because of lectures. The price of food and drink are very affordable for students. It makes they want to come again and again to BC.

However, behind it all, the struggle of merchants is not runs smoothly like what we know. There are so many complaints that every merchants have in BC.


Bundo Cafe

Bundo (55), the one of merchant in BC and the owner of Bundo Café said, “I have been selling in this place since 2010. But, it does not run smoothly because the price of ingredients to make food is always increasing every year. Whereas, the food price that I am selling is not change until now. That’s all in order to make students want to eat here.”

The merchants rent the place in BC cost 6 million every year.  It is not including electricity, and many more. They said that selling in BC can get profit or get loss because the different between profit and loss is very slight. A lot of complains that already delivered into Andalas University party. But, they got ignored by them until now.


“There are so many complaints that we already give it away to Andalas University party like ask to add curtain so that tables and chairs not wet when the day raining and chairs that already  unworthy to use,” Bundo said.


“There also students who orders food or drink and they do not pay of it. That’s also the factor that makes profit of merchants in BC is little,” Bundo said.

About My Blog and Explanation What is Journalistic

How to Interview Someone

Interview is an activity to gathering information related to the topic that you choose by asking them. Before interviewing someone, you must make a deal with the interviewees   when the interview will be hold.
